Obviously a lot of speculation this time of year on the best way to get tickets, but also a lot of misinformation and bad tips, so I thought I'd give some advice as someone who's got a pretty good idea of how the system works.

When you hit glastonbury.seetickets.com, it will try to make a connection and redirect you to the actual event page. That has a URL that looks something like this: https://glastonbury.seetickets.com/even ... rm/1450014 This is the URL you will need, and any browsers you have open that are still trying to connect to glastonbury.seetickets.com are wasting their time as they all are trying to access a very overloaded server just to get a redirect. As soon as one of your devices or one of your friends devices reaches this URL, make sure everyone in your group knows it and is using it instead of the main URL.

When you reach the white holding page, just refresh, the 20 second wait is not doing anything for you, trust me, I checked the page's source code on Thursday and it literally just waits 20 seconds and then refreshes the page for you, there's nothing special going on that means you have a better chance by waiting. However, if you refresh and the fresh takes ages to load, you should absolutely wait as long as it takes as there's every chance that tab will reach a booking page at some point, but as soon as the page has completely loaded, refresh again.

Multiple browser windows do help, but only in certain circumstances, here's the deal: normally every chrome window or tab you open will share the same session (for the more technical out there, what I'm saying is they each will send the same cookies), this is potentially dangerous as multiple connections on one session might cause you issues if you get through a couple of times, for example your session might time out unexpectedly as one tab/window has accidentally triggered a booking session to start earlier than you might have thought.

Incognito windows: Opening an incognito window will give you an extra session, but multiple incognito windows will not, every incognito window shares the same session.

So how do you get more sessions? Well multiple devices will work, also different browsers (i.e. one chrome window, one chrome incognito window, one firefox window, one private firefox window, etc.), but if you want to take this really seriously, Chrome actually lets you have even more sessions, the trick is to click on your google account in the top right and then choose "Manage People". Add a few fake people, and you can then have multiple chrome windows each as a separate "person". Each of these windows is its own session and gives you a bunch more chances.

TL;DR, you should probably use as many connections as possible, as it appears there is some form of IP-based rate limiting going on, but it's not as straightforward as "60 requests per second per IP". But using an office network where lots of people are trying is definitely going to put you at *some* level of disadvantage, even if it not that huge, so:

If you can get on a network where only you or people from your group are using the internet, do that.

If you have 4G connections, spread your devices across those connections, as each will have their own IP, giving you more room within the rate limited bracket.

Usual tips apply, don't multi-group, and if you must, make sure you are absolutely on the ball with letting other groups know when you have tickets for their members, check your bank account immediately to make sure the money's come out and nothing's gone wrong with the order, etc. etc.

Lastly good luck for Sunday, you'll still need a bit of it!

Das war schon wieder zu viel für meine Nerven, aber auch das sechste Mal in Folge ist eingesackt und ich frag mich wie viel Glück man eigentlich haben kann.

Hoffe auf ein sehr weibliches Line Up aus Madonna, Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Jorja Smith, Romy, Halsey, Rosalia, SZA, Spice Girls… Traum bleibt ja Sia, aber das wird wohl nie passieren. Sowas wie Bad Bunny oder J Balvin würde ich dort auch mal nehmen, da müsste ja auch Europa mal anstehen.
